Sara Hook graduated from the University of North Texas in 2012 with a Bachelor's in Violin Performance, where she studied with Philip Lewis. Additionally, she was a member of the National Repertory Orchestra for the 2012 and 2016 summer seasons. Currently, she serves as concertmaster at the Lake Charles Symphony in Louisiana and has regular engagements in the Omaha Symphony in Nebraska and the Victoria Symphony.

Growing up in high school, Sara showcased her versatility by playing electric violin with a rock band named Graphidum, writing original material. They performed regularly throughout Omaha and released an EP. During her time in Denton, Sara's musical horizons expanded as she explored alternative genres like jazz and funk, culminating in an electrifying performance at the Dallas House of Blues alongside icons George Clinton, Parliament Funkadelic, and funk sensation Foley. In Houston, she is a regular cherished fixture at Second Baptist Church's Katy campus orchestra and various places of worship.

Throughout her career, Sara has shared her passion for music through teaching. She has made a significant impact through programs like the Bloomfield Scholarship Program in Wichita, Kansas, and her involvement with various school districts, including the Denton, Cypress-Fairbanks, the Klein Independent School Districts. 

Since settling in Houston in 2013, Sara has built a thriving studio of violin and viola students in the Cypress and North Katy area. Her students consistently achieve excellence, participating in prestigious ensembles like the Houston Youth Symphony and securing top positions in their school orchestras and regional auditions. Since 2020, Sara has continued to innovate her teaching methods to include online options and resources. 


2023-2024 highlights with the Omaha Symphony this season feature conductor Thomas Wilkins, presenting the compelling Negro Folk Symphony, and Grammy Award-winning pianist Emmanuel Ax, enchanting audiences with Mozart's Piano Concerto no. 25.
