Frequently Asked Questions

What’s your teaching philosophy?

I believe that any student who has a desire to learn should have access to quality, affordable, and inspiring lessons. It is my goal and passion to help students develop critical thinking skills, patience, diligence, and cultivate a creative outlet. Each student has different needs and goals, I tailor my teaching to best suit each student individually.

What ages do you teach?

6 is the youngest student I will accept. While most of my studio are children ages 8-18, I have enjoyed teaching many adults as well, it's never too late to enjoy making music!

How flexible are you with scheduling? What if I need to reschedule?

I am known among my clients as being flexible and considerate of extenuating circumstances. Sometimes, things just happen. However I do have a policy on rescheduling and cancellations that clients can read about here.

What's the difference between my child's orchestra class and private lessons?

Orchestra is a class offered by most public schools in middle and high school. In these classes, students work with a teacher and a class of other musicians (class sizes do vary from school to school, but in most cases a minimum of 30 students per class).

In lessons, students get one-on-one attention with a professional, an expert on their instrument. We focus on what the student struggles with specifically, building their technique and confidence and focusing on personalized goals. With support from private lessons, their orchestra class is easier, and more fun!
